Student movement takes Serbia's Vučić to the wire in neck-and-neck election
Serbia votes on Sunday in a snap parliamentary election, with the student-led "Student List" movement posing the toughest challenge yet to Aleksandar Vučić's rule.

Serbia goes to the polls on Sunday for a snap parliamentary election that could end more than a decade of Aleksandar Vučić's dominance over the country's politics.
His biggest challenger is not an established party but the "Student List – Students Win" movement, which grew out of nearly two years of anti-corruption protests that began after sixteen people were killed when the canopy of Novi Sad railway station collapsed.
Instead of running themselves, student assemblies at Serbia's universities selected 250 candidates – doctors, athletes, engineers and academics, none of them career politicians – with cardiologist Ilija Srdanović heading the list.
A reported 150,000 supporters packed Belgrade's Slavija Square for the movement's final rally on Thursday night. Vučić has dismissed the students as foreign-backed, while analysts predict an extremely tight vote.
