Clashes erupt between police and protesters in Paris
More than three hundred thousand people marched across France in a third weekend of protests over living costs, and clashes broke out in Paris as the marches ended.

More than three hundred thousand people marched across France on Saturday, in a third weekend of protests over the rising cost of living and poor public services.
Around seventy thousand people filled the streets of Paris, in a largely peaceful march that moved along boulevards on the city's south-eastern outskirts.
As evening fell, clashes broke out near the end of the route. Masked groups threw stones and fireworks at police, who answered with tear gas and stun grenades.
Officers also clashed with crowds in Lyon, Marseille and Toulouse. Police arrested around three hundred people nationwide, while seventy thousand officers had been deployed to keep order.
