'Our job is only killing' - how Sudan's brutal militia carried out a massacre in el-Fasher
Humanitarian officials fear more than two thousand people were killed after RSF fighters seized el-Fasher, the last army stronghold in Darfur, with verified videos showing unarmed people gunned down.

RSF fighters seized the Sudanese city of el-Fasher late in October, overrunning the last stronghold in Darfur held by the Sudanese military. The city fell after the army withdrew from its main base, the headquarters of the 6th Infantry Division.
Humanitarian officials fear more than two thousand people were killed in the massacre that followed. Videos examined by BBC Verify show unarmed people being gunned down, with bodies left where they fell, including at a university building and on the streets of the city.
The International Criminal Court has said it is investigating whether the paramilitary force may have committed war crimes and crimes against humanity. Fighters are also accused of blocking food and essential supplies from reaching civilians.
Sudan's war began in 2023 after the collapse of the ruling coalition between the military and the RSF, and more than one hundred and fifty thousand people are estimated to have been killed in the fighting over the past two years.
