Ethiopian PM puts ministers through military training

Ethiopia's prime minister has put his cabinet ministers through military training, saying the discipline of the armed forces can build stronger leaders.
Photographs shared by Abiy Ahmed show him drilling alongside ministers, deputies and agency chiefs at the Hurso training centre.
Among those taking part are the parliament speaker, the finance minister and the health minister — a rare sight, as senior civilian officials in Ethiopia are seldom seen in military training.
Abiy says the country's ambitions require leaders who are physically fit, morally strong and intellectually capable, but it is unclear when the training began or how long it will last.
The training comes as Ethiopia faces fighting in Tigray, conflict in Amhara and insecurity in Oromia.
