MI5 chief warns of threats to UK from Russia, Iran and AI
The MI5 chief says state threats now match terrorism in scale, naming Russia the top aggressor and warning that AI is supercharging attacks.

Britain's spy chief has warned that state threats against the UK now rival terrorism in scale, with more resources devoted to them than at any point during the Cold War.
He named Russia as the top aggressor, accusing Moscow of hybrid attacks carried out through criminal proxies. Iran was also accused of expanding its campaign, which has been linked to more than fifty arrests.
Artificial intelligence, he warned, is supercharging cyber attacks and drones, and raising fears over future bioweapons - a new era of threats that is here to stay.
