Russell Brand tells court allegations made friends and colleagues turn against him
Russell Brand told a London court the allegations against him were devastating, saying friends and former colleagues turned away after a twenty twenty three documentary. He denies every charge.

Russell Brand has given evidence in his own defence at Southwark Crown Court in London, telling jurors the allegations against him were devastating.
He said friends and former colleagues turned away from him after a documentary broadcast in twenty twenty three, and that he had not been able to persuade anyone to give evidence on his behalf.
The fifty one year old denies every charge: three counts of rape, three counts of sexual assault, and one attempted indecent assault, involving six women, between nineteen ninety nine and two thousand and nine.
Asked whether he had committed the alleged crimes, he answered no. He told jurors that consent matters more than sex itself, and prosecutors will now cross examine him before the jury decides.
