Rare pink diamond goes on display in France 100 years after amateur heist
A rare nine-carat pink diamond stolen from a French chateau almost a century ago and hidden inside an apple is back on display in France.

A rare nine-carat pink diamond is back on display in France, almost one hundred years after it was stolen.
The pear-shaped Grand Conde, one of the few royal jewels to survive the French Revolution, was taken in an overnight raid on the Chateau de Chantilly in nineteen twenty-six and hidden inside a hollowed-out apple.
It was found weeks later, when a hungry hotel maid took a bite of the apple.
The diamond can now be seen at the Conde Museum until January third.
